Google bundling Chrome browser with Google Pack?

with 2 comments

While chomping at the bit waiting for Google to post their new Chrome browser for download I discovered that searching for the terms google chrome download results in a an AdWords ad for Google Pack. It seems fairly obvious that to drive penetration of their new browser they’d bundle it with Google Pack.

Interestingly, searches for google download or google chrome don’t result in the Google Pack ad appearing thereby indicating the possibility that this indeed was staged before their official release. At the time of this writing, Google Chrome has not been released but I wonder if downloading Google Pack right now might contain Chrome as a hidden surprise? I shall report back my findings!

Update @ midnight 9/2/2008: I tried several ways to see if Chrome was being packaged with Google Pack early (e.g. URL hacks) but I had no success. Guess I’ll wait impatiently like everyone else!
